NASHVILLE, Tenn. — As Missouri football starting quarterback Beau Pribula left the FirstBank Stadium field on a cart and in an air cast, the Tigers ’ season moved within one misstep of ruin.

And then, amid the mire of a harrowing loss, sprung some hope.

An unexpected silver lining appeared in true freshman QB Matt Zollers.

“Matt, just — fearlessness, courage, like he's gonna lay his life out for the team,” MU center Connor Tollison said. “Just like Beau did. So, you know, that's great.”

Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said in the fall that Zollers, 19, is the future of the Missouri program at quarterback.
