NEW DELHI: After Bihar, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to announce the schedule for the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in a media briefing on Monday afternoon.
According to sources in the Commission, the poll panel has prepared the schedule for the exercise, which will be implemented in phases. They said the first phase of this process will cover more than 10 States and one Union Territory, including the election-bound states of Assam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and West Bengal.
Sources said the first phase is planned to be launched on November 1.
