At least 19 passengers were burned to death and several others injured after a private sleeper bus travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire early Friday morning. The accident took place near Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, when the bus collided with a motorbike lying on the road, moments after its rider, reportedly drunk, had crashed and died.
According to police cited by PTI, the collision triggered an explosion that engulfed the vehicle within minutes, turning a routine overnight journey into one of the state’s deadliest highway tragedies this year.
