A 17-year-old driver from Orlando is dead after a fatal crash in Orange County early Sunday Morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by the teenager, and a 2007 Honda CR-V, driven by a 42-year-old man from Kissimmee, were traveling southbound on Landstar Boulevard approaching Island Cove Drive, FHP said. The Honda CR-V was behind the Hyundai Santa Fe.
For unknown reasons, the teenager lost control of the vehicle and struck the rear of the Honda, FHP said. Subsequently, the Hyundai ran off the roadway onto the median and struct a tree.
The teen was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead, FHP said. The Kissimmee man was not transported and remained on-scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
