Jeff Bezos and other members of the media elite are not to be trusted, and the Washington Post recently showed that with a "twisted" pro-Donald Trump editorial, according to an independent political strategist who worked on former President George W. Bush's campaign.

Political strategist Steve Schmidt, who previously published an article in which he argued that Pete Hegseth was setting the stage for a potential "coup," on Sunday wrote a piece called "Pathetic men" all about Bezos and others who he sees doing Trump's bidding.

Schmidt starts by telling a story about a bet he recently won thanks to WaPo.

"The bet I won this weekend was straightforward, and it was for $100. I bet a friend that The Washington Post would editorialize in favor of Trump’s destruction of the White House by Sunday morning," he wrote. "When I proposed the wager he said, 'No f------ way!' I said, 'Yes, way.' He said, 'Hundred bucks?' I said, 'Easy money.'"

Schmidt goes on to say, "The Washington Post is owned by the only man in America who is as tacky as Trump, with a wife as plastic as Melania."

"It was fate that the two would come together," he said before adding, "Obscenities tend to find their way to one another."

Schmidt goes on to argue, "America’s billionaire media moguls are not on your side."

"They cannot be trusted, and they do not love their country," he wrote. "They love money and power. More than anything else, they are fearful people who live in terror of Trump. Pathetic doesn’t begin to describe it."

He also called the WaPo piece "embarrassing."

"The Washington Post editorial endorsing the destruction of the White House was a twisted and embarrassing attempt at justifying the indefensible," he wrote. "It dressed up Trump’s insanity as a 'NIMBY' issue, and tried to make it all seem not just normal, but necessary. It is a preview of what state-controlled or manipulated media will look like in the United States when it is overwhelmingly controlled by: Larry Ellison, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, The Walt Disney Company, Google, Comcast, Marc Benioff."

Going even further, Schmidt claimed, "The truth is collapsing under the weight of madness, opportunity and government threat."

"Soon, American kids will be dying in Venezuela. None of these men, giant corporations, or the entities they control, will tell the truth about what is happening," he predicted next. "There is no defense or excuse for what Trump did to 'the people’s house.' The news here is the confession of The Washington Post editorial board to the depths of their cowardice and depravity."
