SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. -- A woman was found shot dead inside a Cordova home early Sunday, the Shelby County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies responded to a shooting in the 6900 block of Manslick Road just before 3 a.m.

They found the adult woman on the floor inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

Preliminary information indicated the shooting was related to a domestic incident. The sheriff's office is is investigating this as a homicide.
