WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WJBF) — A major candidate forum focused on Georgia’s next governor is coming to Waynesboro.
The forum is hosted by Georgia One, an environmental nonprofit advocating for nuclear harm reduction, environmental protection, and climate social justice for communities in the Central Savannah River Area. The organization also promotes civic engagement through its “We Count” programming, which includes town halls and candidate forums.
Community Engagement Director Rennitta Johnson says the goal is to educate voters on local, state, and federal elections. “Waynesboro has a strong voting base, and we want our community informed so they can make educated decisions."
The nonpartisan forum will include five candidates — two Democrats, two Republicans, and one tentative participant.
