June Lockhart, the actress beloved for her maternal roles in classic television series “Lassie” and “Lost in Space,” has died at age 100.
Lockhart died of natural causes on Thursday, Oct. 23, in Santa Monica, California, with her daughter, June Elizabeth, and granddaughter, Christianna, by her side, according to PEOPLE .
She was among the last surviving stars from Hollywood’s Golden Age.
Her career, which spanned more than eight decades, included memorable roles across stage, film, and television. Lockhart earned two Emmy nominations portraying Ruth Martin, Timmy’s adoptive mother on “Lassie” from 1958 to 1964, before taking on the role of matriarch Maureen Robinson in “Lost in Space” from 1965 to 1968.
