The Philadelphia Eagles are 6-2 after beating the New York Giants at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. Final score: 38 to 20.
This was a much-needed outcome for a Birds team that failed to outgain their opponent in every game prior to this result. Really nice to win comfortably for once.
And the Eagles did it despite missing two key starters in A.J. Brown and Cam Jurgens. They also had multiple injuries on defense.
The performance of the Eagles’ running game was really encouraging to see. The Giants’ bad defense certainly helped them. But the Birds previously failed to run on New York in their Week 6 loss at MetLife Stadium, where they gained just 73 yards. Taking out Tanner McKee’s three end of game kneel downs, the Eagles logged 30 carries for 278 yards.
