After four straight weeks featuring 12-plus hours of football, the Week 8 slate for Oct. 26 – the first Sunday in four weeks without an international game – might feel especially slim.
A season-high six teams take this week off for their bye: the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks. With one "Thursday Night Football" game and one "Monday Night Football" game occupying another four teams, that leaves just 11 other matchups for the main slate on Oct. 26.
In the afternoon, seven matchups will kick off at 1 p.m. ET, then three more between 4 and 4:30. Pittsburgh Steelers veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have his first game against the Green Bay Packers to close out the day on "Sunday Night Football" in prime time.
Outside of Rodgers getting his shot to complete a clean sweep – the Packers are the only team he has yet to defeat in his career – the Oct. 26 schedule also features three divisional matchups.
First, the Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants with a chance at revenge two weeks after their "Thursday Night Football" loss in the Meadowlands. Then, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the New Orleans Saints in a late afternoon game, with the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans kicking off in Indy 20 minutes later.
