QUINCY -- Quincy Notre Dame split its games in the opening day of its tournament at Quincy University on Friday afternoon.
QND defeated St. Teresa 2-0 in the first match, winning the first set 25-12 and the second set 25-19.
"That first set went really well," said QND head coach Danielle White. "The girls played well from the beginning until the end and it took it in two sets. I couldn't be prouder of them in that first game."
In its second game of the day, the Raiders were matched up against Breese Mater Dei, the same team QND fell to in last year's Class 2A Super-Sectional.
Mater Dei won the first set 25-12 and QND gave the Knights a run for their money in the second set before Mater Dei took it 26-24 to win in straight sets.
