IOWA CITY — Kirk Ferentz’s Iowa football team just missed being ranked in the Top 25 of the latest US LBM Coaches Poll , released Oct. 26.
Iowa racked up 85 points in the voting, behind No. 25 Memphis (105 points) and ahead of USC (77 points, 27th-best total).
The Hawkeyes are coming off a dominant 41-3 win over Minnesota. Iowa scored at least one touchdown on offense, defense and special teams against the Golden Gophers. Quarterback Mark Gronowski scored two touchdowns — one on the ground and one through the air. Zach Lutmer extended the program's pick-six streak to 18 seasons. Kaden Wetjen returned a punt to the house, marking the fifth special teams touchdown of his Iowa career (three on punts and two on kickoffs).
