Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday said that the Border Security Force (BSF), following intervention of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has released funds to compensate landowners. The compensation is for land acquired to construct a 135-foot-wide bund and Border Observation Post (BOP) along the International Border in Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts.

He said that Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, has confirmed receipt of funds released by the BSF, with disbursement set to begin through the respective district commissioners in the coming days.
