Nelly Furtado is entering a new chapter in her life.

On Instagram , the "Promiscuous" singer announced that she'll be stepping back from performing music to pursue other opportunities.

She shared the news by posting a throwback photo of herself 25 years ago, when her first album, "Whoa, Nelly!" was released, as well as a recent video of herself in Berlin waving goodbye to her fans from the stage.

"I have decided to step away from performance for the foreseeable future and pursue some other creative and personal endeavours that I feel would better suit this next phase of my life," she wrote. "I have enjoyed my career immensely, and I still love writing music as I have always seen it as a hobby I was lucky enough to make into a career."
