MADISON (WKOW) — The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) is addressing a post on social media that claims staff members were involved in a physical and sexual assault.

Senior Executive Director of Communications Edell Fiedler said the matter is being taken very seriously and a team was pulled together to address the situation.

Fiedler said the Whitehorse Middle School leadership team, MMSD administration, and the Office of School Safety are collaborating closely, following district policies and procedures.

The matter has been reported to law enforcement, according to Fiedler. 27 News confirmed with the Madison Police Department that it is investigating this situation.
