The man convicted of shooting and killing an 18-year-old outside of a market in Banning, a murder that caused a community outpouring of grief among the town and the nearby tribe, was sentenced to 82 years to life in prison.
Brody Joseph Baca, 27, was convicted in August of murder, attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced Friday, Oct. 24, at the Larson Justice Center in Indio — nearly seven years after he killed Alex Marcotte.
