Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will appeal for free trade and regional cooperation at the ASEAN summit on Monday ahead of President Donald Trump’s face-off with China’s Xi Jinping.
On Sunday, Mr Albanese flew to Malaysia to join leaders at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit and the East Asia Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
The Prime Minister will fly to South Korea on Wednesday for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, where the critical meeting between President Trump and President Xi is set to take place on Thursday.
The meeting will seek to settle trade war tensions between the US and China, where a tariff truce will be discussed and terms signed.
