CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — Two people are hurt after a shooting in Sheridan Township early Sunday morning, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office (CCSO).
Deputies said around 12:45 a.m., they responded to reports of multiple gunshots fired in the area of C Drive North and 29 Mile Road.
When deputies arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds at separate nearby locations.
First responders provided immediate medical care to the victims, who were then taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Deputies said the extent of the victims' injuries is currently unknown, however, at least one victim had life-threatening injuries.
The victims were identified as a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Battle Creek.
