Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Northeast Portland that seriously injured a pedestrian early on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. at Northeast Lombard Street and Northeast 13th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found an injured man who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was immediately transported to a hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with police investigators. Police have not released the name of either the victim or the driver.
