Both of Arizona’s U.S. senators took to national TV to harshly condemn the Trump administration’s military strikes on boats described as ferrying drugs amid growing doubts about the effort’s legality.

Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Arizona, who is a member of the Senate’s Intelligence and Armed Services committees, said the administration is misleading the public that the strikes are targeting crafts carrying fentanyl and the Pentagon’s heavy-handed actions “makes us less safe.”
