LOS ANGELES (AP) — It turns out the only thing able to stop Lakers star Luka Dončić during the early part of the season has been injury: the Lakers announced Sunday that the 26-year-old was ruled out against the Kings with a left finger sprain and lower leg contusion.
He will be re-evaluated in a week’s time. Per multiple reports, the Lakers don’t expect the injury to linger.
Doncic had been off to a spectacular start to the season with back-to-back 40-point games for the Lakers, who play at Sacramento on Sunday night. He will be reevaluated in approximately one week, the team said.
