Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says he’ll revoke $160 million in federal funding from California for allegedly issuing commercial driver’s licenses to noncitizens.

State investigators found 25% of reviewed licenses were improperly issued, with an estimated 60,000 noncitizens driving fuel tankers, school buses and other commercial vehicles.

The enforcement action follows three fatal crashes blamed on immigrant truck drivers and new federal rules restricting license eligibility for noncitizens.
