Crossroads actor Tony Adams dies aged 84 and tributes pour in View 2 Images
Tributes are pouring in for Crossroads actor Tony Adams, who has sadly passed away at the age of 84. Born Anthony Sawley Adams in Anglesey, Wales, in 1940, he honed his acting skills at the renowned Italia Conti theatre school.
After making a name for himself on stage, he became known to television audiences as Dr Neville Bywaters in the 1970s soap General Hospital and also featured in the Dr Who series The Green Death.
In 1978, he embraced the role of accountant Adam Chance in the soap Crossroads, a character that would become his most recognised.
The series concluded in 1988 after an impressive run of more than 4,500 episodes, with Adams remaining until the very end.
