LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Horse Racing returns to Louisville for the 136th fall meet at Churchill Downs, but the racetrack was filled with more than just colts and fillies as the track opened for family-friendly fall fun.

On Sunday, Stars of Tomorrow I kicked off the 26-day, five-week stretch of racing, as the 2-year-old horses, hoping to race in the 2026 Derby, took their marks beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday’s races are part of the Road to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks series.

Churchill Downs opened its gates to all young ghouls and goblins for Trick-or-Treat at the Track, as part of its Family Adventure Day. Kids under 12 were invited to stop at the over 15 stations for candy, face painting, stick horse racing, and more.
