NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — New York City residents have shown an enormous interest in the upcoming mayoral election based on early voting numbers through two days of it opening, according to the Board of Elections.
After an increase of more than five times the amount of early voting check-ins on Saturday compared to the last New York City mayoral election in 2021, day two was just as consistent.
Over 164,000 residents across New York City have gone to their local voting locations to check in as of Sunday, according to the BOE.
Manhattan and Brooklyn residents have led the five boroughs through the first two days of early voting, with a combined 98,623 check-ins. Queens is right behind with 38,791 cumulative early voters.
