Indiana basketball’s first test of the season against like competition saw the Darian DeVries-led Hoosiers demonstrate toughness, resilience and poise in beating Baylor 76-74 in an exhibition at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Sunday.

In a matchup of teams that return zero production from last season, the Hoosiers trailed by as many as 13 in the first half, but roared back to finish their preseason slate undefeated behind 26 points on 11-for-11 foul shooting from Sam Houston transfer Lamar Wilkerson.

Tucker DeVries added 18 points, five assists, two blocks and two steals for IU while Tayton Conerway chipped in 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
