A 14-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being bitten by a crocodile in far north Queensland.
Paramedics were called to Myall Beach near Cape Tribulation, outside Cairns, on Saturday afternoon in response to reports the teenager had been mauled by a crocodile.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson says the teenager had wounds to his leg and abdomen, and was treated at the scene being flown by helicopter to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition.
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service said the boy's condition remained stable.
Rangers from Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service are investigating.
At least four crocodile sightings have been reported in the Cape Tribulation area in the past month, including one on Wednesday, which remains under investigation.
