ST. HELENA PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left a Baton Rouge man dead early Sunday, Oct. 26.
Troopers said the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on LA-1045 near LA-43. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Elijah L. Brumfield, was driving westbound when his vehicle crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle traveling eastbound head-on.
According to investigators, Brumfield was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, identified as Travis D. Keller of Slaughter, suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment. Troopers later determined he was impaired and charged him with first-offense DWI and other traffic violations.
