MORGANTOWN -- Four West Virginia women's soccer players were honored Sunday afternoon ahead of the Mountaineers' Big 12 Conference contest against Oklahoma State.
It was a day of celebration of the Mountaineers seniors.
Yet, it was the work of a freshman and junior that gave WVU its 12th win of the season, taking down the Cowgirls, 2-0, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Freshman Ava Arnold scored the first goal in the opening five minutes, while Abbey Olexa netted the final goal in the 55th minute.
WVU has now won three straight contests and is 11-0-3, with its last loss coming to then-No. 14 Penn State, 3-1, on Aug. 24.
