Here are four takeaways on what is ahead for area teams in the Michigan High School Athletic Association playoffs.

Quartet earns top seeds in districts

Four area teams are the top seeds in their districts or 8-man regionals and will be home in the early stages of the playoffs. League champions DeWitt (Division 3), Williamston (Division 4), Pewamo-Westphalia (Division 7) and Portland St. Patrick (8-man Division 2) all have earned home-field advantage based on playoff points.
