While Ellis Ross comes from Hollywood royalty herself—her mother, Diana Ross, starred in films like The Wiz (1978) and Mahogany (1975)—she chose to pay homage to a different star: actor and famous bleach blonde Marilyn Monroe . While Monroe is thought to have only visited this lot one time in 1960, her Paramount company films include Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), The Seven Year Itch (1955), and Some Like It Hot (1959).
