MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — A salty Southern snack took center stage this weekend at the Fried Pickle Festival in Montgomery.
Hundreds of people filled Garrett Coliseum on Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the savory treats and celebrate all things pickle. Visitors sampled pickle-flavored lemonade, watermelon, and even cotton candy. The festival also featured vendors selling pickle-themed merchandise and homemade pickles, along with kid-friendly attractions like inflatables, face painting, and a petting zoo with a baby kangaroo.
Event organizer Shannon Wright said she wanted to bring the pickle celebration to Alabama after seeing its popularity elsewhere.
