MARTINSBURG - Three teams - two on the boys side and one on the girls side - from the Eastern Panhandle will be playing for a spot in the state soccer tournament after advancing to Thursday's Class AAAA North Region finals.

On the boys side, No. 4 Musselman and No. 6 Hedgesville advanced, with the Applemen earning the most dramatic win, a 1-1 (5-4) victory over No. 5 Martinsburg on Saturday in a shootout. R.J Sturba scored the lone regulation goal for the Applemen (12-3-4) in the second half to tie the game, then scored the game-winning goal in the shootout to eliminate the Bulldogs (9-8-1). Also scoring in the shootout for Musselman were Brayden Gordon, Dominic DeMasi, Wilson Bonham and Camden Hinchman.

The Applemen will take on top-seeded Wheeling Park (17-3) in one Thursday's regional
