A month after the tragic Karur stampede claimed 41 lives, TVK chief Vijay is set to hold a closed-door meeting with the victims' families in Mahabalipuram today. According to party sources, the meeting, organised at a hotel, will be closed to both media and party members, highlighting the sensitive nature of the discussions.

According to sources, TVK has booked 50 rooms at the hotel to allow the actor-politician to personally meet the grieving families, who will travel to the venue on a bus.

The planned meeting, however, has sparked debate, with some criticising Vijay for arranging travel and accommodation instead of visiting Karur directly to console the families.

The party, however, said the arrangement was necessary because Vijay was unable to obtain permission from the authorities
