NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Nearly 700,000 Tennesseans are preparing for November as the Trump administration announced food aid will not be sent out next month, and the state says it cannot bridge that gap.

The Nashville Farmers’ Market has brought back an initiative, with the help of a state grant, that doubles SNAP and EBT benefits for qualifying families, offering relief as the federal food assistance program faces uncertainty.

Four participating farm stands — Smiley’s Farms, Plano Produce, Hancock Family Farms and Hext Quality Meat — are doubling the purchasing power for those in need.
