MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Despite the rainy Sunday, several organizations held 5K walks and community walks across the Mid-South.

In Cordova, the Kosten Foundation kicked off Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, with its 15th annual Kick It 5K.

The event brought together runners, walkers, survivors, and families - all raising funds for pancreatic cancer research and patient support.

One of the organizers had a message for those who aren't familiar with the disease.

"Unfortunately, it's usually found incidental to another problem," explained Tommy Craig. "You know, a gallbladder issue, colon issue something like that, and they'll show up on the scans."
