IOWA CITY (KWWL) – One week ago Kinnick Stadium was buzzing. The Iowa Hawkeyes rallied from an 11 point deficit to knock off Penn State on a special night for the nearly 70,000 in attendance
Among them was Bruce Dall and his 10-year old son Kinnick.
“I was celebrating really loud and jumping at my seat,” said Kinnick of the memorable moment.
Bruce is a lifelong Hawkeye fan, so much so that he named the young man after the Hawkeyes' lone Heisman trophy winner, and Kinnick’s love for the black and gold grew quickly. On that night, the father and son snapped a photo that would soon be seen nationwide.
"Obviously I wasn't expecting for that to take off the way it did,” Bruce said of what happened next.
