WILDER, Idaho — A week after federal agents raided a horse racing arena in Wilder, families remain separated, and questions linger about how an investigation into illegal gambling resulted in more than 100 people being detained by immigration authorities.

The Oct. 19 operation at La Catedral Arena began as a quiet race day before more than 200 federal, state and local law enforcement officers descended on the venue around 2 p.m.

Officers zip-tied attendees' wrists and moved them to a holding area inside the arena. People with documentation were eventually released, while 105 undocumented individuals were loaded into vans and transported to facilities in Boise and Mountain Home.
