Under the influence of Cyclone Montha, rainfall activity has begun in Paralakhemundi, with overcast skies and steady showers reported since morning. The weather pattern in the region has remained cloudy, with intermittent rainfall observed from around 9:00 am. An orange warning has been issued for Gajapati district for Monday, while a red alert has been declared for Tuesday.

In view of the heavy rainfall forecast, the local administration has taken precautionary measures, recalling previous incidents of landslides caused by heavy rainfall. All seven blocks of Paralakhemundi have been put under full preparedness, with Fire Department personnel stationed across key areas. Several ODRAF teams are expected to arrive and will be deployed as required.
