FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — A Fort Atkinson police officer fatally shot a person Sunday evening during a response to a disturbance call with reported shots fired, according to the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is conducting an officer-involved death investigation following the incident that occurred around 5 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Washington Street in Fort Atkinson.
Fort Atkinson Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence to respond to a report of a disturbance with shots fired. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers surrounded the residence, according to the DOJ.
