Sundargarh: Five masked men allegedly robbed a widow and her daughter of gold and cash worth over Rs 1 crore in a late-night heist in the Bonai area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

According to sources, five men, armed with guns, broke into the house of the shop owner around midnight after assaulting one of the employees and threatened him with a gun. They then instructed him to call the house owner. The robbers barged inside as the woman opened the door to hand over medicine to the house help, gagged and bound both the widow and her daughter, stole around 480 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 25 lakh in cash, and fled.
