India’s waste management model has been under scrutiny for some time, with several public figures voicing concerns about the piles of garbage scattered across the country’s streets. A Serbian model-turned-yoga student, who has been living in India since 2018, has taken it upon himself to clean up the streets.
Lazar Jankovic, 32, lived in Bengaluru for six years before moving to Delhi . Over time, he has joined hands with several local NGOs to organise clean-up drives in cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Bengaluru , Amritsar, and Faridabad. He is determined to educate communities on proper waste disposal and civic responsibility.
