A 20-year-old youth from Koraput died under mysterious circumstances while visiting the tourist spot Kechela on Sunday afternoon.

The cause of death remains unclear, and police suspect foul play due to inconsistent statements from his companions.

The deceased, Anshuman Bhatra, son of JJ Kumar Bhatra from Aditya Nagar, had gone to Kechela with three friends. Around 6 PM, one of the friends brought Anshuman in an unconscious state to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
