As a freshman in college, Ryan Hallahan found himself on a date at a midnight screening of the premiere “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” Hallahan knew about Harry Potter (because everyone in 2005 knew about Harry Potter). But he didn’t understand the phenomenon.
“I had not read any of the books or seen any of the movies,” Hallahan told the Boston Herald. “It was a sold-out theater in Bloomington, Illinois, and people lost their minds. I think that was the first movie where Voldemort shows up and people just went crazy.”
Hallahan’s college dip into the Potter sensation is becoming a flood of Harry, Hermione, and Hogwarts hysteria. The actor recently joined the tour cast of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” as Draco Malfoy — the Boston stop at the Emerson Colonial Theatre runs Nov.
