Chittapur, the seat from Kalaburagi which has become the new political hotbed, is once again at the centre of a confrontation between Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The junior Kharge has questioned the “audacity of the RSS" for declaring that it will go ahead with its Path Sanchalan in Kalaburagi even as the matter is still being heard in the Karnataka High Court.

“They talk of marching in my constituency with the audacity that they will defy the law and the orders of the court," questioned Kharge in an interview with News18.

Kharge said the court has clearly stated that permissions can be granted only if the environment is conducive and the peace and tranquillity of the place will not be disturbed — a decision left to the discretion of local
