Srinagar, Oct 27: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday announced that the Jammu and Kashmir government will allot five marlas of land each to landless people affected by recent floods, adding that the documentation process for the allotment is already underway.

Responding to a question by BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma in the Assembly regarding a new rehabilitation policy for flood victims, Abdullah clarified that no fresh policy has been formulated but landless families will be provided land on lease wherever available.

“The documentary process is on,” the Chief Minister said, while rejecting allegations of regional bias. “The government does not indulge in regional politics like the member does,” he added.
