Emil Massa needed a moment before he could share some memories of growing up at the depot for Broadway Bus in Bayonne.

Massa, 60, is a third-generation owner of the company, which recently informed customers that it will shut down, 101 years after it was first incorporated by his grandfather, later inherited by his father and uncles and eventually him.

"When my dad drove, he used to get in trouble because I used to love being with him, and they used to have a bus called the fishbowl and they had a dashboard, and don’t ask me how I did it ... I actually would lay right in the front window of the bus," Massa said. "I always was with my dad."
