This October, Mission Hospital achieved a remarkable milestone: 140 years of continuous service to the people of Western North Carolina. For over a century, Mission has stood as a beacon of healing, compassion, and community commitment — guided by an unwavering belief that every person deserves world-class care, close to home.

Helping to steward this legacy is an honor and responsibility I do not take lightly. As President and CEO of Mission Health, I often reflect on the deep roots of this institution — roots that were first planted in 1885, when a small group of dedicated women formed “The Little Flower Mission.” Their purpose was simple but profound: to care for the sick and vulnerable in our community.
