Drivers living with diabetes and other health conditions could be at risk of major fines. If someone with a certain medical condition that could affect their ability to drive fails to declare it to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), they could be fined as much as £1,000.
The DVLA has issued guidance highlighting that numerous conditions could impact your ability to drive safely. These are categorised as 'notifiable' medical conditions or disabilities, which means certain health issues must be reported as they could compromise your driving.
Furthermore, some health problems or disabilities not listed officially may need to be reported if they have worsened since you received your driving licence. The DVLA's guidance warns: "You could be fined up to £1,000 if you d
