Bhubaneswar: The cyber wing of the State Crime Branch has arrested the third accused from West Bengal in connection with an online gaming fraud involving over Rs 1.08 crore.

The accused has been identified as Sugata Majumder (29), a resident of Sukantapally village under Gangnapur police limits in Nadia district of West Bengal. Majumder, a B.Sc. Zoology graduate, works as a freelance video editor.

According to an official press release, a citizen had lodged a complaint alleging that he was defrauded by cybercriminals through an online gaming platform. The fraudsters lured him into trading on an illegal gaming site, convincing him to invest progressively larger amounts.
